Free Meetily Alternative for Mac
Choose Loofah if you want a free Mac meeting recorder with a local file vault and no premium tier. Meetily is also a local transcription tool, with a free Community edition and paid Pro features. Local processing alone is not a reason to switch.

When Loofah fits
Section titled “When Loofah fits”You use an Apple Silicon Mac and want notes to stay useful as ordinary files. Speaker detection after recording, a customizable summary prompt, imports, and exports are included. You can also give an agent read-only MCP access or ask it to save work through the CLI.
Set aside time to download a speech model. Summaries need a separate Intelligence provider: a local Ollama or LM Studio server, or a hosted API key. A speech model alone does not generate summaries. Prepare an offline workflow if you want both steps to stay local.
When Meetily fits
Section titled “When Meetily fits”Meetily is worth considering if you need a Windows download, prefer its interface, or want its paid support. It also has an established open-source community. Check the Community and Pro boundaries against the specific features you use.
Try a recording before switching
Section titled “Try a recording before switching”Loofah does not have a dedicated Meetily account or project importer. If you have a supported audio file or an SRT/VTT transcript, import it and inspect the resulting session. This does not migrate another app’s folders, settings, or sharing state.
